0 is a collection that explores the difference between the intention and chaos of pattern cut waste. By designing with negative space, 0 truly lives up its name with zero direct textile waste. The garments are inspired by the chaotic and irreverent nature of the 1990s club scene and parsimonious American crafts. It is at once relatable and twisted.

Materials

0 approaches construction with quilting patterns and traditional braiding techniques but interprets these elements in unexpected materiality such as Nylon mesh and coated denim.

Process

The process for 0 germinates from considering the scraps that occur around cut waste. This method takes into account the odd shapes leftover when cutting out garments and designs into them thereby wholly utilizing textiles.  Every garment relates to one another through the intentional design of each piece to fit together, much like the pieces of a puzzle.
